Mosquitoes have been problematic in low altitude around lakes.......We have not have any problems at high altitude......Be prepared to be assaulted by little vampires who penetrate thin shirts and hypersensitive skin..........Hikers should have Benadryl stick and  big bottle of repellant........and also need to have Claritin for allergy......This antihistamine is not causing drowsiness on the trail.........I have been in JMT from Red's meadow to Tuolumne meadow around altitude 8000 ft to 11,000 ft.........August 13 to August 16 2010.........I just got back yesterday...........Weather of these days have been superb and perfect......A little chilly in the morning,but the nature of weather in mountain is unpretedictable.........I have been sleeping in bivvy sack without any problem watching galaxy of stars and falling meteors..........Enjoy the nature in short time in flesh and bone because our spare time is decreasing less and less in a limited form.........Don't waste any moment........you made a right choice to hike in JMT..........We are already blessed..........Be borned and feel in this great transient Hotel we rent for a short time.......Enjoy your stay in life form.......See you in JMT again...........
